In the course, we will discuss mostly primary texts on the various positions on free will. In the first part of the seminar, we will review a selection of various variants of the most cutting-edge positions on compatibilism, libertarianism, hard determinism, and other views that are harder to classify with these classic distinctions. In the second part of the course, we will turn to the challenges to free will that arise from contemporary neuroscience and debate what impact these empirical results have on the debate. https://campusonline.uni-bayreuth.de/ubto/wbLv.wbShowLVDetail?pStpSpNr=323310&pSpracheNr=1 |
