This course introduces students to the fundamentals of statistical analysis for the social sciences in R, an increasingly popular statistics software. We willcoverthebasics,startingfrom learning basic commands in R and howwecanusestatisticstosummarizeinformation. We will then proceed discussing practical aspects that are inevitably linked to data analysis such as operationalisation, measurement, and data preparation.Finally, we will be estimating basic regression models, learn how to test hypotheses and make predictions based on the models we estimate. By the end of this class, you will be able to run your own analyses in R, which you might then integrate in your term papers. |
